About us:

The ride is set up to travel from Astoria, Oregon to Ocean City, Maryland.  We will leave our home the beginning of June 2010 and set out via train to Astoria, Oregon.  There we will dip our front tires into the Pacific Ocean and begin are adventure across the country.
The reasons behind the trip:
#1:  This idea came to me shortly after my dad, Doug Constiner, died of anorectal melanoma, March 16, 2007.  We considered making this a charity ride and have met with a few organizations.  We are giving 100% of our net proceeds to The James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute.  Donate using paypal.
#2:  The trip is going to allow us to truly bond as a father and son.  This trip will allow us to embrace our strengths, weaknesses, and our fears.
#3:  Our faith.  We will leave Astoria with $100 in our pockets.
We will rely on God to provide our needs through the generosity of those we encounter.  In today's society, today's economy, we want to show the American public that all is not lost.

Please consider donating to The James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute.  Help us find a cure.  Click the donate button on any of our pages and donate using paypal.

During the trip, we will blog daily as equipment and time permits.  We will cover our trials, tribulations, successes, failures and our experiences with people, both good and bad.  We will also be blogging for the next year detailing our preparation for this trip.

We are looking for Corporate sponsors to help cover some of our cost and will offer certain things in return.  We offer three levels.  Look here.  If you are interested, please email me at [email protected].

John - I'm 34 years old.  I have been married for 16 years and have 4 children.  My interests include cycling, naturopathy, herbs, and reading.  I'm employed by a small stainless steel fab shop in Northwestern, Pa.  I'm working on quitting smoking.  I'm really looking forward to this bonding adventure with my son.  I'm sure there will be times when we can't stand one another.  Other times, encouraging one another and finally celebrating an accomplishment that a majority of the population wouldn't dare set out to do.

Brad- I'm fifteen years old and currently a freshman in high school. Music is my life. I love to play one of my two guitars and sometimes my dad's bass guitar. When I'm not playing the guitar, I am always listening to my iPod. I like to read books that are about musicians or books that are mystery or thriller. I also love all kinds of movies.
I love riding; especially on really nice days when it is not too hot and not too cold. I wish we lived somewhere where it's warm all year round so we could ride all the time. Well, that's really all I can think of. If I come up with anything else, I'll be sure to put it up.
